My click is bigger than yours
I'm starting to feel horribly left behind in this giant Inter-web. I just found out what it is Technorati actually does (I originally thought it was just some blog search engine). I also just got on the Podcast bandwagon (which I still find really peculiar, especially when people use Apple's text-to-speech feature for their podcasts). Flickr is seeming less frivolous and more useful (at first I thought, why the heck would I want to host my photos elsewhere. Now I figure, there may be some good to that, especially in the photo-sharing and searching sense. Now if there's only a way to import/export entire photo directories...). There's a whole bunch of other things that I'm just beginning to grasp, like the value of widening one's social network by just, well, IMing people. And then there's the whole FOAF and XFN thing that I still can't quite grasp, but I'll probably understand eventually.
It's like there's way too much to absorb. Can someone pipe all the necessary information into my brain for me?
Also, the situation that prompted the entry title -- after hearing people at BloggerCon rant about having more than 500 feeds, I checked the number of feeds I currently have on NetNewsWire: 57. Just 57. Sheesh. I know blog lists comparisons are petty ("Mine is bigger than yours!"), but a small list does make one feel inadequate. My geek-fu is weak. It needs some nourishment. Maybe I'm going through a blog-life crisis, if there is such a thing.
Well, time to go hunting for more information then. *Dons hunting gear*. I'm on board.

It's not the quantity of your blog rss feeds, it's the quality. No, really. Honest. I mean it.

Pardon the silly question but... what is it exactly, then, that Technorati does? (And why does the index functionality of its Booktalk section fail so miserably?)

There's nothing wrong with 57 feeds. I have just 74 myself. (And I'm the developer of NetNewsWire.)

That's ok, I just found out what Technorati was today as well, courtesy of Scoble's link, when I decided to actually visit the site.
