Filling in time

So, I applied for this job at this Big Tech Company right? And I got a phone interview, which went okay, and then I got an editing test, which I promptly completed and sent back. Well, it has been 2 weeks since I received a "I really apologize, but I will get back to you about this ASAP" email. I do believe she'll get back to me (this is a Pretty Big Company, so I hope they'll be professional about these things) but... 2 weeks? Come ON. Then again, a friend told me she waited 4 months for her job, so anything can happen I guess.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to look for a freelance/part-time job to fill in time. So far, I've applied for a typist job, an internship, and will probably apply for a couple of freelance writing gigs (one for an encyclopedia and another for a zine). Gotta keep busy, ya know. I have to keep these creative writing juices alive somehow. Which probably means I should blog on a more regular basis... *cough*

So, this is the deal. I'm going to set up a writing and reading schedule. Set aside a certain number of hours a day just reading and writing. As it is, I've been spending too much time just lazing about. This means I really have to start blogging more often, on this blog, plus the SF Metblog. Okay, this isn't really "working", but it's related to what I hope to be eventually doing.

Worse come to worse, I'll work as a Sales Associate at the local mall. Woo.

More entries coming up, folks.

i think you should contact them after awhile and say you would like the job and restate why you are the shiznit.

I know waiting it out can be quite a stressful thing. If the company is as big as you indicate, they are probably at least national if not international. Thus, they probably have a number of folks to screen at other locations as well. The larger the company, the more time it takes them to sort through applicants because they get more applicants. But, hey, you ARE the shiznit. Make sure they know it. Squeaky wheel and all, ya know?
