I’ll admit that I’ve never had too much trouble with my finances. I’m not terribly spendthrift, but I’ve also been blessed with a relatively well-off upbringing. But as I’ve stepped out into the working world, it’s become more incumbent for me to manage my own finances, and I haven’t done that to the best of my abilities. I’ll admit to splurging on things, like vacations and gadgets, and that was probably my downfall this year. 2007 will go down in history as my spendiest year, and 2008 will be the year where I make up for all that spending by not splurging on anything (I figure it’ll take a full year to be out of debt).
It’s funny, because as I approach my 29th birthday, I’m feeling the weight of the Saturn Return breathing down my neck. I’m guessing the biggest challenge will come with my career and my money, and I don’t know how prepared I am for that.
I guess these are the sorts of things they don’t really teach you about in school.
