Why tonight’s Simpsons was so awesome
There are five reasons:
1) Jack Black as the Comic Book Guy rival.
2) Animation of Tintin and Snowy, with red rocket.
3) Alan Moore, Daniel Clowes, and Art Spiegelman make an appearance as themselves. If you don’t know who these people are, please get thee to the book store immediately.
4) Alan Moore, Daniel Clowes, and Art Spiegelman, as ripped super heroes who can fly.
5) Alan Moore singing the Little Lulu song. Also, Milhouse showing a mock comic book entitled Watchmen Babies in V for Vacation. So. Awesome.
Seriously, it was a series of inside comic book jokes that completely reward those who care about independent comics and graphic novels.
Oh, and if I may suggest some books to read to completely school yourself on the awesomeness of these comic book geniuses and pioneers:
