CES Day 0: Press day

The press is out in force today. They can smell the fresh meat of new products, and believe me — they are hungry. I was at the LG press conference held at a mind-numbing 8 a.m. on a Sunday, and the place was STANDING ROOM ONLY. Crazy. I’m slightly jealous that I wasn’t covering the TV beat, because those LG televisions looked luscious. The big news of course was the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD combo DVD player, which clocked in at $1199. Yea, ouch. As for me, I blogged about three entries today for Crave about cell phones, and I still have at least two more to go (Big news on the cell phone front is Verizon offering live television broadcast on cell phones — coming our way before March 2007). I can only imagine what hell the Engadget and Gizmodo guys are going through (Also, I like Engadget, but Gizmodo always has the funniest damn photos. Look at this photo of Brian with Bill Gates — pure comedy).

And this is just PRESS DAY. CES hasn’t even STARTED YET and we’re working our butts off. Tomorrow is going to be crunch time in a major way, and you might not get a blog entry from me until super late in the evening.

PS. If you’re going to Bloghaus, you will probably see me some time tomorrow.
