I’ve been a naughty conference attendee: I’ve been skipping panels. A lot of them. Only attending maybe two panels a day, and even then, not for the entirety of said panel. Why? Because I wanted a chance to enjoy Austin during the daytime. I went to have lunch with an Austin buddy at an Irish pub, and I liked just walking around Congress avenue looking at the different shops. I walked a little past the lake, and just enjoyed the view. The rest of the time was me chilling in a coffee shop with WiFi. I am so relaxed here. I don’t feel any pressure to be anywhere, and I love it.
Not to downplay the conference of course; some of the panels have been quite intriguing. However, I’m seeing this as my personal vacation. And I am taking full advantage of it by not being everywhere my dodgeball messages may lead me.
