I’m heading out to Vegas today, and will be in Sin City for the next 4 days. I’m hoping some of my old co-workers still read this blog of mine (though from the looks of it, I’m guessing not), and if you’re heading out to CES, please feel free to contact me and we can grab coffee in between our hectic schedules. Or if you’re a blogger covering it, we’ll just have coffee WHILE we’re typing away frantically.
PS. This reminds me of some interesting things I’ve noticed when you compare traditional media with the new “blog-based” media outlets. In many ways, the latter is the new wave of how events are being covered, even by traditional media. But traditional media often have a nasty habit of writing blog entries like it’s a news story (complete with inverted pyramid style ledes). This is the WRONG way to write blog entries. Blogs should be as informal as an email to an old friend. I’m glad to see some of this on CNET’s own blog, although we probably still need some work, especially in the humor department.
PPS: Notice how I subtly added a plug there. Clever, eh?
WHERE IS PLUG? SO SUBTLE?!
