Two music podcasts that rock
I’ve dramatically cut down my list of podcast subscriptions, mostly because I really have no time to listen to all of it. However, I’ve discovered two most awesome music podcasts that I’ve decided I must share with you.
The first is IndieFeed, which showcases the latest in the indie music scene. Wow. Fantastic stuff. Apparently it’s been around forever, but I’ve just found out about it. I am so not the kind of person that actively searches for new music, so having it come to me this way is perfect.
Next is They Might Be Giants new podcast, which is apparently hosted by “the Duke of Dead Air- Cecil Portesque”, who is most likely one of the Johns (rumor is that it’s Linnell, but that’s unconfirmed). It’s 20 minutes of the band’s exclusive tracks, plus a slew of unreleased recordings. In the first podcast, there’s a re-imagined version of Particle Man that I think is, quite frankly, superb. This is a Must-Subscribe if you’re a TMBG fan.
So there you have it. Two music podcasts that will rock your world. Or at least have you chair-dancing in the office.
I know eh? The TMBG Podcast is outstanding. The band’s mastery of all things Web is reflected in it’s podcasts and it’s website, which has all the bells and whistles. Plus there is an online store. Podcast 4a was one of my favorites, with the Venue Songs. The whole idea of doing venue songs is so TMBG. The songs on this recording are pretty quirky and cool. I like “the Egg”, “The Garage” and the 70’s glam rockish “Trees”. It makes me want to go and visit these places!
The Dexter theme wasn’t bad at all either.
For people that love good music but like a good laugh, check out these podcasts. They are so worthwhile.
Go to http://www.tmbg.com to see the videos for Venue Songs! Half of them are animated, which to me made me want to buy the DVD. TMBG have great animation in many of their videos, it’s like too much of a good thing…
