After tweaking around the URL settings for my XMLRPC, I think I’ve finally got Ecto running. As I’m blogging this entry via Ecto, I certainly hope so. The upgrade was mostly prompted by Becky in the comments on my Ecto question entry, as well as numerous reviews I read around the Net.
So far, I’m liking it. The interface seems to be cleaner, and I like that the Entries and Drafts are on a separate window. Like Jasmeet, however, I find the separate tab for Extended Entry kinda annoying. This is especially the case when it comes to sweet spot and vicarious, where I have a template set up with Extended Entry, Excerpts, and so forth. I guess it’s a matter of getting used to it.
I also experienced some issues with character encoding when first setting up my blogs, but Adriaan nicely explains it here (I think that’s his name anyway).
I’ll try uploading a few more photos later today to vicarious and see how Ecto handles that.
Do let me know how you like it, in relation to the whole extended entry and excerpts being on another page. I’m thinking I might not have a choice but to just go ahead and buy it.
I was just thinking about the Weblog Editor in NetNewsWire, but its working along the same lines of ecto. Supposed to get an overhaul in the next version. Who knows when that is =)
