About
Hi there. I’m Nicole Lee. This has been my home on the Internet since 2003, though I’ve been blogging for awhile before then. I have wandered away from this blog (see: Twitter, Tumblr, Squarespace etc.), but this place will always be home, even if I’ve often tried to leave for greener pastures. I’m not the most consistent of bloggers, but I’m trying to change that.
After years of cultivating an unseemly passion for all things nerdy, I somehow stumbled into covering technology for a living. Blame TechTV, Wired Magazine, Gizmodo, and CNET for hiring me and giving me an opportunity to do so. I spent close to six years in CNET’s mobile reviews division, reviewing everything from cheap Bluetooth headsets to the most overhyped Android smartphones. Right now I’m working for TWiT (This Week in Tech), where I produce a weekly product review show called Before You Buy.
I’m from a small South East Asian country called Malaysia. I moved to the U.S. for college, but found myself feeling right at home in my adopted country. I met Brandon Hanvey in San Francisco, fell in love, and married him. Years later, I became a U.S. citizen.
Aside from tech, my interests run the gamut: science-fiction, fantasy, comic books, knitting, crafting, cooking, and more. You will likely read about some of them on this website.
